Chatham……….Gary "Peanut" Roger Woodson, age 62 of Chatham, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born May 24, 1955 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Roger W. Woodson and Mildred Rowland Woodson. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Clara East. Mr. Woodson was a member of Sheva Church of Christ and retired from VDOT. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with family at family get togethers.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne East Woodson of the residence; brother, Jerry Woodson and wife, Millie; sister, Brenda Woodson; brothers-in-law, Harry East and wife, Carlease and Glenn East and wife, Carol; sisters-in-law, Ellen Keen and husband, Leonard and Jean Bowen and husband, Henry; niece, Lynn Fail and husband, Jay and 40 other nieces and nephews; and his faithful caregiver of 16 years, Dorothea "Boo" Logan.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Sheva Church of Christ by Ron Voss, Minister and Larry Owen, Minister. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at Sheva Church of Christ and other times will be at the residence.
