Gretna…….Garry Lee Gibson, age 71 of Gretna died Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his residence.

Born July 15, 1952 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Garry Hunt Gibson and Maggie "Jane" Adkins Gibson.  He was predeceased by one son, Ronnie Gibson; one brother, William "Tommy" Gibson; and two sisters, Angie Gibson, and Gloria Radford.  Mr. Gibson was an equipment operator with Williams Logging and Shipping.  He loved fishing, working on old cars, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary K. Gibson of the residence; two sons, Wayne Gibson of Gretna, and David Gibson of Gretna; two daughters, Patricia Rowland and husband, Kimball of Gretna, and Bonnie Moore and husband, Ronnie of Chatham; three sisters, Joyce Hancock of Chatham, Mildred Simpson of Chatham, and Diane Adkins and husband, Joe of Chatham; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Daniel, Ronnie, Jr., Dustin, Mary, and Cally; five great-grandchildren, Hailee, Cole, Daniel, Jr., Lucas, and D.J.; one great-great-grandchild, Nova; and a special niece, Mackenzie.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Pastor Obdulio Berrios.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
