Gretna……….Garry Lee Dalton, age 80 of Gretna died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born December 23, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Guy Owen Dalton, Sr. and Mildred Younger Dalton.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Malon Dalton and Berkley Dalton.  Mr. Dalton was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Summersett Baptist Church.  He retired from VDOT and he enjoyed deer hunting.

He is survived by four brothers, Ron Dalton and wife, Gail of Gretna, Doug Dalton of Gretna, Guy Dalton, Jr. of Gretna, and Jerry Dalton of Penhook; four sisters, Barbara Hawkins of Lynchburg, Louise Woolard of Gretna, Betty George of Gretna, and Geraldine Stratton of Gretna; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews.  Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in the Russ Dalton Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Gail Dalton.
