Hurt……Garland Blake "G.B." Reynolds, Jr., age 86 of Hurt died Monday, January 25, 2021 at his residence.

Born December 12, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Garland Blake Reynolds, Sr. and Theta Booker Reynolds.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Arlene R. Grimaud and Janet R. Doyle; his uncle who raised him, Norbert E. Reynolds; and his paternal grandmother who raised him, Fannie Peak Reynolds.  Mr. Reynolds attended Renan School, Altavista High School and Hargrave Military Academy where he excelled in all sports.  He was a National Guard Veteran and a former owner/operator of Western Auto of Altavista; he also ran Village Pool Room on Broad Street in Altavista and Reynolds Drive-In Grocery on Main Street in Altavista.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, playing golf, and doing yardwork.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Inge Reynolds of the residence; two sons, Jason Reynolds and wife, Christy of Long Island, and Blake Reynolds of Evington; one daughter, LeAnn Reynolds Hendricks of Altavista; one sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Ellis of Richmond; an aunt, June R. Lester of Richmond; and three grandchildren, B.J. Hendricks, Hunter Reynolds, and Hailey Reynolds.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
