Gretna……….Frances Eanes Rowland, age 85 of Gretna died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born April 9, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Jeff Coleman Eanes and Essie Scott Eanes. Mrs. Rowland was predeceased by her husband, Willie C. Rowland; one brother, Samuel Coleman Eanes; and one sister, Tiny Margaret Hogan. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed reading, gardening and sewing. Mrs. Rowland also liked NASCAR, bird watching, the Washington Redskins and Elvis.
She is survived by one son, Robert R. Rowland of Gretna; one daughter, Annie Jones of Gretna; one step-daughter, Gertrude Yates of Java; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Gary Phillips. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the home of her granddaughter Linda Dalton and her husband, Bernard, 1825 Derby Road, Gretna.
