Gretna..........Frances Schwitzerlett Bosiger, age 89 of 205 S Franklin Blvd. died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Gretna Health & Rehab.
Born June 4, 1921 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Thomas Schwitzerlett and Mary Mayhew Schwitzerlett. Frances was married to the late Meredith Algernon Bosiger. She was predeceased by a son, Jerry W. Bosiger; three brothers, Sammy Schwitzerlett, Berkley B. Schwitzerlett and Quinby Schwitzerlett. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and retired from Burlington Industries following 32 years of service. Mrs. Bosiger loved cooking, and was an avid flower gardener, receiving the Gretna Garden Club "Yard of the Month" several times.
She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Wells and husband, John of Gretna; one brother, Phillip Schwitzerlett and his wife, Jeanne of Greensboro, NC; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Schwitzerlett of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ann Schwitzerlett of Milton, FL, Edna Midkiff of Gretna and Annie Burnette of Gretna; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Harold Thornton and Phillip Schwitzerlett. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence 205 S Franklin Blvd., Gretna.
