Gretna……….Frances Marie Barker, age 76 of Gretna died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Gretna Health & Rehab.

Born June 17, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Berkley Dewey Barker and Emma Howell Barker.  Frances was predeceased by two brothers, Curtis Barker and Robert Eddie Barker; and five sisters, Virginia B. Brumfield, Juanita B. Franklin, Betty B. Hines, Hilda B. Wilson and Martha B. Doss.  She was a member of Motley Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the Lane Company.   She enjoyed crafts and cooking.

She is survived by four sisters, Trula Barker Clark of Martinsville, Nellie Barker Pickral and husband, Oscar of Gretna, Elaine Barker Clark of Martinsville and Carolyn Barker Goad and husband, Ralph of Gretna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mitch Etheridge.  Burial will follow in Summersett Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Oscar Pickral.
