Danville…..Frances Hines Bailess Bivens, age 85 of Danville died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born September 9, 1929 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late John Millard Hines and Lou Ella Shields Hines. She was predeceased by her first husband, Tommy L. Bailess; her second husband, Clinton Bivens; four brothers, Edgar Hines, John Henry Hines, Bernard Hines and Doug Hines; six sisters, Florence Shelton, Ollie Fox, Eula Wiles, Cora Edwards, Clara East, and Evelyn Bailess. Mrs. Bailess was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed listening to Jimmy Swaggart on T.V. and she loved her dog, Rosie.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Bailess and his wife, Jeanette of Hurt and Ricky Bailess and his fiancée Linda Beard of Goode; one daughter, Brenda L. Bailess of Pomaria, SC; one sister, Aleen Nebb of Norfolk; five grandchildren, Chelsey Lynch of TN, Derick Taylor and his wife Leslie of Raleigh, NC, Michael Bailess and his wife, Heidi of Hurt, Jamee Bailess and his wife, Emily of Hurt, and Sean Dunn of Lynchburg; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Kayden, Mallory and Sadie Bailess, and Quinn Taylor.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Gretna Christian Church by Rev. Roy Parker. Burial will follow at Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 Friday, June 19, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jeanette Bailess, 2417 Harbor Drive Hurt, VA 24563.
