Floyd "Dale" Elliott, 62, of Long Island, Virginia, went to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior after a battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Kay Moon Elliott for 43 years.

He was born July 26, 1959 in Lynchburg, Virginia, a son of the late Thomas Earl Elliott, Sr. and Martha Whitaker Elliott. He was a faithful attendee and supporter of Piney Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of 43 years at Abbott Laboratories, Altavista. In prior years, he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and the sport of hunting while admiring God's marvelous creation. He also sang for many church services, revivals, and weddings. Once he retired, he designed and completed the inside of his woodshop and enjoyed surprising many family members and friends with meaningful gifts of woodcraft. He was known as "Mr. Fix-It" to many, especially his mother-in-law.

In addition to his wife, he was the loving father to a son, Cameron Elliott, of Virginia Beach, and a daughter, Jennifer Crews, and her husband, Brad, of Long Island; three brothers Michael Elliott, and his wife Kay, of Brodnax, Tommy Elliott of Danville, Rodney Elliott, and his wife Rayna, of Altavista; and his mother-in-law, Sharon Moon of Long Island. He was the world's best Papa to his two granddaughters, Savannah and Sydney, and his granddog, Xena, who knew Papa's lap was the safest place to be to have some peace and quiet. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews as well as a large family on his wife's side.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Piney Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Matthew Speck. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Piney Grove Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence.

The family would like to express their gratitude to family, friends, church family, and medical staff for their prayers, support, and encouragement throughout this difficult journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2261 Piney Grove Road, Gretna, VA 24557, designated missions fund.
