Gretna……Floyd Millard Dove, Jr., age 68 of Gretna died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at his residence.

Born July 24, 1950 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Floyd Millard Dove, Sr. and Myrtle Dalton Dove.  He was predeceased by a special friend, Lavern Nichols.  Mr. Dove was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and was a carpenter.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing; and all sports, especially watching football, baseball and boxing.

He is survived by a son, Brian Dove of Gretna; a daughter Magen Boone and husband Aaron of Lynchburg; a sister, Betty Bryant of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Amber Dove, Ethan Boone and Liam Boone; a niece and nephew, Kelly Bryant and Kevin Bryant and wife, Tammy and their children, Kane Bryant and Luke Bryant; and his former wife, Irene Dove.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
