Gretna……….Floyd (Lilly) Douglas Dalton, age 73 of 6501 Rockford School Road, Gretna died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born July 7, 1937 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Petrose Dalton and Pearl Vasser Dalton. He was also predeceased by ten brothers and sisters. Floyd was a member of Summersett Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Burlington Industries. He enjoyed buying and selling farm equipment, and especially loved Farmall tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Ann D. Dalton of the residence; a sister, Frances Farthing of Danville; a special niece, Kelly Evans and her husband, Stacy and their son, Blaine Evans and their daughters, Rebecca Jackson and Brittney Farmer. Brittney's son, Rylee Farmer, and baby girl to be Lilliann Marie to whom he was a special Papa. He was also survived by many other nieces and nephews that he loved, and a special doggie named Tuff.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2011 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Ryan Patterson and Elder Raymond Goad. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, and other times will be at the residence.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
