Hurt….…..Flossie Millner Jones Denton, age 98 of Hurt died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her residence.

Born July 15, 1919 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late Cabel F. Millner and Josephine Clay Millner. She was predeceased by her first husband, Clarence Jones and her second husband, Dewey Denton; three brothers, Willie Millner, Roy Millner and Junior Millner; one sister, Virginia Moore; and a son-in-law, Ray Hammock. Mrs. Denton was a member at the Cody Church of God of Prophecy and was a former employee of the Lane Company. She enjoyed cooking and working with flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Moss of Hurt and Josephine Hammock of Renan; one sister, Dora Bentley of South Boston; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Cody Church of God of Prophecy by Rev. Ava Mitchell and Rev. Dwayne Hammock. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery.
