Keeling……Elizabeth "Faye" Doss Tanksley, age 79 of Keeling passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Wyndhurst Health and Rehab of Lynchburg.

Born April 14, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Thomas Doss and Toy Elizabeth Owen Doss.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Otis Tanksley, Jr.; a granddaughter, Brittany Porterfield; and two sisters, Lois Tucker and Doris Giles. Mrs. Tanksley enjoyed drawing, gardening, going to the beach and watching racing, but her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially at cookouts.

She is survived by three daughters, Lisa Dawson and husband, Lynn of Hurt, Karen Mooney and husband, Kevin of Appomattox and Patty Worley of Altavista; one sister, Christine Saunders and husband, Carroll of Gretna; two grandchildren, Jackie Merrill and husband, Ryan and Alex Worley and boyfriend, Cody Short; six great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Grayson, Harper, Brooklyn, Colton and David.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Dawson, 6525 Dews Road, Hurt.
