Gretna……….Alma "Faye" Thompson Rowland, age 74 of Gretna died Monday, June 21, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 23, 1947 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late Dorcey Witt Thompson and Alma Faye Clay Thompson.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Owen Thompson, and Wayne Thompson; and two sisters, Shirley Tucker, and Fleecy Davis.  Faye was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and she retired from Magnetek.  She loved gospel music, country music, and watching Hee Haw and Wheel of Fortune.

She is survived by one son, Kimball Rowland and wife, Patricia of Gretna; one brother, Arthur Bailey Thompson and wife, Gail of Gretna; one granddaughter, Charlotte Rowland; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Barbour, and Daniel Doss; three step-great-grandchildren, Hailee Walden, Cole Walden, and Daniel Doss, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Jim Tucker; and a special nephew, Mark Foster.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Dwayne Hammock.  Burial will follow in Straightstone Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her nephew, Mark Foster, 2160 Cody Road, Gretna.
