Luray……Faye Gwen Jenkins Nichols, age 70 of Luray died Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Born June 24, 1951 in Charlottesville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Martin Jenkins and Ressie Lee Downey Jenkins.  She was predeceased by one sister, Ruby Koontz.  She retired as a Head Vault Teller with Sun Trust Bank and a member of Mt. Carmel Regular Baptist Church.  She enjoyed fishing, hunting, baking, reading, singing, and watching the Hallmark Channel.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry Clyde Nichols to whom she was a faithful companion and best friend; two daughters, Melissa Cubbage and husband, Doug, Jr. of Stanley, and Rebecca Sherfey and husband, Brian of Shenandoah; one son, Jerry Christopher Nichols of Tennessee; a twin brother, Ray Jenkins of Georgia; three additional brothers, Jimmy Jenkins of Michigan, Gerald Jenkins and wife, Helen of Charlottesville, and David Jenkins and wife, Karen of California; two sisters, Martha Lynch of Charlottesville, and Judy Blair of Texas; nine grandchildren, Jacob Sherfey, Joseph Sherfey, Kristina Sherfey, Jessica Porterfield, Trenton Cubbage, Tyler Sechrist, Daniel Cubbage, Morgan Cubbage, and Katie Seeders; and seven great-grandchildren, Henry Porterfield, Alluara Porterfield, Caedan Porterfield, Landyn Cubbage, Addison Cubbage, Evalyn Price, and Ellie Sites.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date in Luray, Virginia.
