Hurt……….Exie Rigney Adkins, age 80 of 2844 Easome Road, Hurt died
Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born May 28, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late, Averett Rigney and Mary Scearce Rigney. Mrs. Adkins was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Edward Adkins and a brother, Billy Rigney. She was a retired employee of Schrader-Bridgeport and attended Altavista Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, John (Jay) Adkins of Hurt; one daughter, Mary Hall and husband, Keith of Lynch Station; one brother, Larry Rigney of Hurt; one sister, Clara Mae Rigney of Hurt; four grandchildren, Heather Doss and husband, Chris, Brian Adkins, Ashlee Hall and Emily Hall; and two great-grandchildren, Logan Pyles and Luken Pyles.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Altavista Church of Christ by Larry Evans, Minister and Lory Brafford, Minister. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
