Pittsville……….Eva Tallent Waters, age 89 of Pittsville died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home in Lynchburg.
Born January 23, 1928 in Franklin, NC she was a daughter of the late Henry Tallent and Maude Patterson Tallent. She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob "Buster" Astor Waters; a son, Daryl "Doc" Waters; three brothers, Virgil Tallent, Temple Tallent and James Carol Tallent; and four sisters, Louise Williamson, Marie Rowland, Robertta Jones and Geneva Roland. Mrs. Waters was a member of Mount Sinai Assembly of God in Franklin, NC and attended Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved to garden, sew, sing and listen to good preaching. She was a home maker and enjoyed taking care of people.
She is survived by two sons, Mitchell Waters and wife, Brenda of Pittsville and Richard Waters and wife, Debra of Blairs; two daughters, Geneatta Shelton and husband, Joe of Pittsville and Kathy Shields and husband, Steve of Pittsville; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Roper of Franklin, NC and Ruth Welch of Pittsville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Mike Allen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Steve Shields, 5264 Pittsville Road, Pittsville.
