Gretna……Eunice Virginia Betterton Rowland, age 80 of Gretna died Monday, April 16, 2018 at her residence.

Born April 17, 1937 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Ben Johnson Betterton and Elnora Meadows Betterton.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Lester "Bill" William Rowland.  Mrs. Rowland was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and was a home maker.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles, hummingbirds and her dogs.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Rowland of Gretna and Phillip Rowland and wife, Brandi of Sutherlin; one daughter, Linda Rowland of Martinsville; three brothers, Jerry Betterton and wife, Joyce of Chatham, Donald Betterton of Eustis, FL, and Malcolm Betterton and wife, Faye of Gretna; one sister, Janice B. Owen of Griffin, GA; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Bishop Edward Pope.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
