Hurt………Eula Maude Moorefield Dillon, age 92 of Hurt died Monday, June 17, 2024 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab of Altavista.

Born July 19, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Grover Talmadge Moorefield and Mattie Haynes Moorefield.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Paige Andrews; her second husband, Perry Dillon; and four sisters, Lena Wooldridge, Hazel Eades, Opal Saunders and Mildred Midkiff.  Mrs. Dillon attended Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church.  She graduated from Gretna High School in 1949 where she was a member of the basketball team.  After retirement from Burlington Mills she enjoyed talking on the phone with her sister, Millie and her cousin, Dot.  She kept diaries most of her life; and she enjoyed reading and music.  Mrs. Dillon was a kind and loving person. Family was her greatest joy.

She is survived by two sons, Charles "Buddy" Andrews, Jr. and wife, Judy of Rockville, Maryland and Gary Andrews and wife, Barbie of Lynch Station; one step-son, Ronnie Dillon and wife, Betty of Danville; one step-daughter, Vanessa Coffey and husband, Steve of Hurt; one brother, Charlie Moorefield of Ocoee, Florida; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews.  Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
