Gretna………Ethelyn Robertson Hardy, age 85 of 2625 Galveston Road, Gretna died Monday, June 2, 2014 at her residence.
Born October 19, 1928 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Jack Robertson and Annie Lukin Robertson. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Virgil Hardy, Sr.; and a daughter, Kimberly H. Padgett. Mrs. Hardy retired from the Lane Company and was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. She was a well-known seamstress; and enjoyed painting, craft work, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Herman Virgil Hardy, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Gretna, and David Lee Hardy and his wife, Alice of Gretna; two daughters, Patricia Francis and her husband, Henry of Gretna, and Janice Doss of Gretna; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jim Critchley and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
