Java......Ernest "Shorty" Edward Wilmoth, age 82 of Java died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at his residence.

Born October 3, 1935 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late James Massey Wilmoth and Iola Snead Wilmoth.  He was also predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.  Mr. Wilmoth attended Riceville Baptist Church and retired from Pannill Knitting.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, NASCAR, making music, animals and playing with Denise's dog, "Bella."

He is survived by his wife, Linda Strickland Wilmoth of the residence; one son, Eddie Wilmoth; and three daughters, Janet Perkins, Brenda Wilmoth, and Denise Wilmoth.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Lee Ashley, Minister.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
