Gretna......Erline Rowland Power, age 72, of Gretna, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born August 9, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Taylor Rowland, and Virginia Rowland Rowland. Mrs. Power was predeceased by a step-son, John (Bob) Power. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, and a former employee of Dan River Mills. Erline loved her friends, and animals, and shared her hugs with all.
She is survived by her husband, John Henry (Jack) Power of Gretna; a step-son, Randall Power of Madison Heights; a step-daughter, Ginger Power and her husband John Jones of Virginia Beach; three step-grandchildren, Todd Power, Andrew Power, and Emily Power all of Madison Heights; a step-daughter-in-law, Sharon Power of Madison Heights; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Midway Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
