Emma Hart Mustain of Gretna, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025 surrounded by love and faith.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Armand Mustain with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Emma is survived by her two sons: Bill Mustain of Mandeville, LA, and Tony Mustain of Richmond, VA. She was the cherished grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A lifelong pillar of her community, Emma was an active member of First Baptist Church of Gretna. She shared her radiant smile, joy, and deep love for the Lord through teaching Sunday School for many years.

Her legacy of Southern hospitality lives on in  our memories of her fried catfish, fried chicken, ham and biscuits, and her famous pound cake — all served with warmth and a generous spirit.

Emma was an avid bird watcher with a special fondness for hummingbirds. She found her greatest peace on a sunny porch, soaking in the beauty of God's creation or surrounded by her family.

Emma Hart Mustain will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Gretna by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
