Emma Booth Betterton

Nathalie…. Emma Booth Betterton, age 86 of Nathalie formerly of Gretna, died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehab of Altavista.

Born July 12, 1932 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late Lyle J. Booth and Judy Clay Booth Clay.  She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Junior Betterton and four sisters, Earlie Marshall, Mary Bane, Christine Wilson and Pauline Hughes.  She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and was a home maker.  Mrs. Betterton enjoyed planting and working with flowers, embroidery and working puzzles.

She is survived by one son Ricky Betterton and wife, Kim of Gretna; one daughter, Jane Betterton Tribble and husband, Wayne of Nathalie; three grandchildren, Angela Tribble, Susan McLaughlin and husband, Keith and Samantha Guzzardo and husband, David; three great-grandchildren, Colby Mason, Avery McLaughlin and Caden McLaughlin.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Mulberry Baptist Church by Rev. David Hanks.  Burial will follow in the Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Jane Betterton Tribble and husband, Wayne.
