Altavista………Elsie Keatts Parsons, age 95 of Altavista died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
Born December 3, 1921 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Mary Marie Keatts. She was predeceased by her husband, Sam Morgan Parsons; five brothers, Bob Keatts, Ulyes Keatts, Ollie Keatts, George Keatts and Thomas Keatts; and four sisters, Beulah Irby, Nannie Tate, Dollie Maddox Ayers and Gillie Connor. Mrs. Parsons was a home maker. She enjoyed sewing, vegetable gardening, quilting, giving to others and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Sam Wesley Parsons of Hurt, Raymond Tael Parsons and wife, Cindi of Hurt and Lloyd Edward Parsons of Hurt; three grandchildren, Samantha Morgan Parsons, Stephanie Megan Parsons and Kelly Lynn Self; and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Stewart-Parsons and Joshua Self.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Ronnie Simpson. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her son, Sam Wesley Parsons, 2315 Country Club Road, Hurt.
