Gretna…..Elsie Davis Moschler, age 90 of Roanoke, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Roanoke.
Born June 3, 1925 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas George Davis and Janie Riddle Davis. Mrs. Moschler was predeceased by her husband, Albert Sidney Moschler; three sons, Claiborne Moschler, George Moschler and Richard Moschler; two daughters, Julia Moran and an infant daughter; three brothers, Winston Davis, James Davis and William Davis; and two sisters, Izora Grant and Mildred Davis. She was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church and was a former employee of Pannill Knitting. Mrs. Moschler enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, bird watching, traveling and her cat named "Ish".
She is survived by one son, Paul Moschler and his wife, Cindy of Gretna; six daughters, Anna Waller and her husband, Floyd of Gretna, Catherine Bennett and her husband, Billy of Hurt, Frances Brumfield and her husband, Buddy of Gretna, Janie Alley and her husband, Reford of Gretna, Sue Moschler and Nancy Adkins of Roanoke, and Ann Moschler and Stuart Bowman of Collinsville; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
