Gretna………Elsie Mae Falls Rowland, age 88 of Gretna, died Monday, January 22, 2024 at Rocky Mount Health and Rehab Center.

Born June 22, 1935 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late Hartford Jasper Falls and Helen Henderson Falls.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lonnie Herman Rowland; three daughters, six brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She was  a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and retired from the Lane Company.  She enjoyed planting and working with her flowers, and collecting knick knacks.  She will be greatly missed by many who loved and knew her.

She is survived by one son, Lonnie Rowland and wife, Cindy of Gretna; three daughters, Betty Hedrick of Renan, Dora Henley and husband, Ken of Gretna, and Peggy Hargrove and husband, Paul of Gretna; one sister, Frances Walker of Halifax; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
