Gretna………Eloise Adkins Scruggs, age 89 of Gretna passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born June 3, 1936 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Adkins and Mary Custer Moore.  She was predeceased by her husband, Berkley Lee "Bobby" Scruggs; a daughter, Pamela Sue Rowland; and a son, Kenneth Lee Scruggs.  Mrs. Scruggs attended Spring Road Baptist Church and she retired from Danville Regional Hospital. Eloise enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

She is survived by one son, Keith Scruggs and wife, Lari of Gretna; one granddaughter, Brandie Worsham and husband, Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Kristen Worsham, Darrien Worsham; a great-great-granddaughter, Charlotte Boles; a son-in-law, Owen Rowland; and special friends, Susan Elliott, Gladys Saunders and Peggy Mays.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026 at Gretna Burial Park by Pastor Ronnie Simpson.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Lari Scruggs.
