Gretna…..Eloise Shelton Myers, age 88 of 615 Vaden Drive, Gretna died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born March 8, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Silas Willard Shelton, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Simpson Shelton. She we predeceased by her first husband, Raleigh Vaughan; and two sisters, Gladys Mayhew, and Gabrille Eanes. Mrs. Myers was a member of Midway Baptist Church, and was a home maker. She was an expert seamstress, and enjoyed flowers, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, James M. (Jack) Myers of the residence; four step-daughters, Deborah Lunford of Halifax, Donna Myers of Danville, Sue Hailey of Blairs, and Jackie Rogers of Ringgold; one brother, Willard Shelton and his wife, Colleen of Gretna; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. L.W. Adams, and Rev. Dennis Nichols.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
