Hurt………Ellis Wayne Lambert, Sr., age 78 of Hurt went to see Jesus and be united with his family on Monday, March 17, 2025 with the love of his life Brenda Carol Almond Lambert of 59 years of marriage by his side.

Wayne was born August 30, 1946 in Altavista, VA, a son of the late Ellis Marco Lambert and Lucille Robertson Lambert.  He was predeceased by four brothers, Baxton Lambert, James Lambert, Chester Lambert and Larry Lambert; one sister, Wanda Ward; brother-in-law, Dennis Almond; sister-in-law, Shelby Mitchell; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Thomas and Clarice Almond.

Wayne was a member of Summersett Baptist Church where he loved serving and being in Christmas plays.  He worked 18 years at H.K Porter and then went to P.C. Design as plant manager where he retired.  Wayne was a member of Masonic Lodge #316 and was District Deputy in 2009.  As an avid fisherman he would catch fish and fry them for his friends, family members, church members and Mason Lodges.  He loved to cook his fish and make his famous slaw.  Wayne was also a craftsman and was able to make beautiful cedar woodcrafts.  He was a happy jokester; he loved to pull pranks and joke around.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Carol Almond Lambert of the residence; two sons, Ellis Wayne Lambert, Jr. of Hurt and Richard Thomas Lambert and wife, Angie of Gretna; two brothers, Ronnie Lambert and wife, Phyllis of Altavista and Mike Lambert and wife, Molly of Hurt; two sisters, Patricia Kelly of Altavista and Sandra Delappe and husband, Dwaine of Hurt; brother-in-law, Leonard Almond and wife, Pattie of Lynchburg; sister-in-law, Sandra Almond and friend, Paul Jasiewicz of Gretna; three grandchildren, Amanda Jones and husband, Damion, Trae Lambert and wife, Cheyenne and Ethan Farthing; three great-grandchildren, Alice, Samuel and Simon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews and Randolph Coffey.  Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Summersett Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Vickie Boley Harmon for the care she gave Wayne and for being a good friend to Carol.
