Ellie Reynolds Layne

Gretna…..Ellie Reynolds Layne, age 95, of Gretna died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at her residence.
Born February 27, 1917 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Walter Reynolds and Nannie Waide Glenn Reynolds. Mrs. Layne was predeceased by her husband, George Edward Layne; a son, Edward Robert (Bobby) Layne; a daughter, Ellie Layne Tucker; five sisters, and two brothers. She was a member of Straightstone Baptist Church, and a former employee of Piedmont Manufacturing. She loved crocheting, quilting, gardening, and living on the farm.
She is survived by one daughter, Erie Layne Bailey and her husband Donald of Evington; and five grandchildren, Tony Layne, Tina Bell, Tim Tucker, Tammy Gallimore, and Teresa Thompson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Margie Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
