Gretna……….Ellen Shelton Dalton, age 93 of Gretna died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born December 22, 1919 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Lee Shelton and Mary Octavia Towler Shelton. She was also predeceased by her husband, Ocie Edward Dalton; one sister, Annie Towler; and four brothers, Edmund Shelton, Morris Shelton, Bill Shelton, and Walter Hurt Shelton. Mrs. Dalton was a member of Payneton United Methodist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing cards.
She is survived by one son, Don Dalton and wife, Carolyn of Powhatan; two grandchildren, Amy Dalton and Katie Dalton; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Gretna Burial Park by Tom Erwin and George Schaefer, Pastor.
