Elizabeth "Libby" Dale Pickeral Hedrick, 78, of Altavista passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022. She was born in Lynchburg, VA on May 12, 1943. Libby was a member of Springfield Primitive Baptist Church. She loved and trusted in Jesus her entire life and He always provided for her abundantly.

Libby grew up in Gretna, VA and was known for her basketball skills, wonderful sense of humor and love of chocolate pie! She worked for over twenty years at Ross (Abbott) Laboratories in Altavista, VA. She had many fond memories of her time there with the Quality Systems team. But, her greatest joy was found in her grandchildren, of which she had eight.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dellie Keesee Pickeral; father, Moman Harris Pickeral; three sisters, Aliese Pickeral Creasy; Rebecca (Becky) Pickeral Turner, and Marguerite (Mag) Mayhew. Nephews, Kenneth (Kenny) Creasy; Mickey Turner; William (Bill) Ware; and, Nelson (Jr.) Mayhew.

Libby Dale was survived by her son, Travis Daniel Hedrick; father of Hunter, Austin, Joshua and Henry Hedrick all of Sandy Level Virginia. And, Carter Saunders of Sandy Level was like a grandson to her as well. A daughter, Kristie Hedrick Blyseth, son-in-law Christopher Blyseth; grandchildren Mia Blyseth (Florida), Hayden Blyseth and Chloe Blyseth of Chesterfield, VA. Two sisters, Joyce Pickeral Brumfield of Gretna VA; and, Jean Pickeral Ware of Providence, NC. She loved all of her nieces and nephews so much. Kathy Brumfield Bryant of Gretna, Steve Creasy of Chatham, Wanda Lee Amos of Gretna and Nancy Mayhew Slayton of Moorehead City, NC were involved in her life until the end.

The family would like to express gratitude to two special caregivers; Amanda Towler of Gretna, VA and Valerie Rowland of Hurt, VA for taking such good care of their "Gaga" for the last few years. Their tireless dedication to meeting her needs was remarkable.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

Friends and family are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service at Greenfield Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 384 Fairmont Road, Gretna, VA.
