Eleanor Roberson Lawrence passed away peacefully on the evening of July 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to family that will be cherished forever.

Eleanor was the beloved daughter of Herbert Roberson and Myrtle Roberson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd Samuel Lawrence, and her siblings: sisters Lovelene Hall (John), Lorene Pritchett (Harold), and Audrey White (Edgar), and brother Wayne Roberson.

Eleanor is survived by her devoted children, Robin Lawrence (Allen Brown) and Sam Lawrence (Melissa), and her four grandchildren who were the light of her life: Marshall Mildrum, Evan Mildrum (Alexys Underwood), Abigail Lawrence (Logan Morrison), and Cooper Lawrence. Eleanor is also survived by two sisters, Opal Hall (Alfred) and Sandra Woodford (Barry) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Eleanor embodied the spirit of caring for others, living out her Christian faith through acts of love and service. She had an extraordinary gift for ensuring that everyone around her felt loved and well cared for, often putting the needs of family and friends before her own. Her world truly revolved around her children and grandchildren, and her love for them was evident to all who knew her.

Eleanor found deep peace and wonder in nature, particularly during her walks when she would take in the beauty of the world around her. She particularly loved mountains and was continually amazed by their beauty and majesty.

Eleanor's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and finding joy in the simple beauties of the world. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her gentle spirit and generous heart.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mike Waters.  Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Bassett.

The family will receive friends  one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Melissa Lawrence, 2654  Fairview Road, Chatham, VA 24531.
