Gretna….. Edward William Cook, age 70 of Gretna died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his residence.
Born December 22, 1944 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late William Cook and Lona Beatrice Tuck Cook. He was predeceased by his sister, Nadine Kendrick. Ed was an owner and operator of C & C Plumbing for many years and was a truck driver for FWC Trucking in Rustburg. He was a member of the Virginia National Guard; and a Life Member of the Gretna Rescue Squad, Gretna Volunteer Fire Department and District 5 Virginia Association of Rescue Squads. He enjoyed hunting, drag racing, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Maxey R. Cook of the residence; two sons, Joey Cook and his wife Karen of Hurt and Benjie Cook and his wife, Ryn of Gretna; two step-sons, Bobby Duffy and his wife, Brenda of Crewe and Johnnie Duffy and his wife, Tammy of Lafayette, LA; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Harold Thornton.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
