Sandy Level……….Daniel Edsel Edwards, Sr., age 87 of Sandy Level died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born March 21, 1928 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Edwin Harden Edwards and Julia Morgan Edwards. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel (Dan) Edsel Edwards, Jr. and a brother, Edison Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a charter member of Penhook United Methodist Church. He graduated from Ferrum Junior College, and was a farmer and auctioneer. He enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Merle Anderson Edwards of the residence; and a daughter, Constance Rose (Connie) Edwards of Sandy Level.
Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Penhook United Methodist Church by Rev. Dr. Judith Short. Burial will follow in Liberty Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Penhook United Methodist Church and other times will be at the residence.
