Chatham…….Edith Eva Brown Norkett, age 70 of Chatham died Sunday, September 22, 2019 at her residence.

Born March 26, 1949 in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late William Lee "Billy" Brown and Mildred Riddle Brown McCulock.  She was predeceased by her husband, Billy Ray Norkett.  Mrs. Norkett was a home maker.  She enjoyed going on beach trips with her family, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and being helpful to everyone.

She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Lynn Norkett of Kannapolis, NC; one son, Ricky Lee Norkett of Hamptonville, NC; two sisters, Patsy Roach of Hurt, and Carolyn Simpson and husband, Ronnie of Gretna; four grandchildren, Branddon Norkett, Jessica Norkett, Carlee Hall Hayes, and Morgan Hall; and one great-grandchild, Riley Emerson Washam.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Ronnie Simpson.
