Gretna………Edith Rowland Bowler, age 86 of Gretna died peacefully in her sleep Friday, December 9, 2022 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born December 16, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Bland David Rowland and Hazel Mayhew Rowland.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Brice Bowler; one son, Jeff Bowler; one daughter, Debra "Dee" Head; one brother, Danny "Booney" Rowland; and one great-granddaughter, Jayden Brown.  Mrs. Bowler was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and she retired from Klopman Mills after 25 years of service.

She is survived by one son, David Bowler and wife, Cindy of Gretna; one daughter-in-law, Melody Bowler of Chatham; one sister-in-law, Patricia Rowland; four grandchildren, Nikki Shields and husband, Matt, Andrew Bowler and wife, Rachel, Jay Brown and wife, Tabitha and Brandi Irvin; ten great-grandchildren, Parker, R.J., Samantha, Colton, Jene-Marie, Caleb, Baylee, Lyukai, Sena, and Seiya; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Greenfield Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank all of her caregivers at Gretna Health and Rehab for their love and care.
