Gretna…….Edgar Morris Franklin, Jr. age 81 of Gretna died Monday, April 20, 2015 at his residence.
Born March 18, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Edgar Morris Franklin, Sr. and Nettie Simpson Franklin. Mr. Franklin was an Army Veteran and retired from Babcock and Wilcox. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, working on his 1935 Ford and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Easley Franklin of the residence; one son, Edgar Morris Franklin III and his wife, Kristi of Lynch Station; one brother, Billy Ray Franklin of Bluefield, WV; and one grandson, Liam Joseph Franklin.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Briton Easley and Rev. Scott Miller.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
