Gretna……….Melvin Edward "Eddie" Hamlett, Jr., age 63 of Gretna died Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 8, 1959 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Melvin Edward Hamlett, Sr. and Betty Jean Inge Hamlett.  He was a former employee of Klopman Mills and the owner/operator of Midway Self Storage.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, camping, building anything, and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna Crews Hamlett of the residence; two daughters, Felicia Jean Crouch and husband, Johnny of Rustburg, and Megan Nicole Hamlett and boy friend Bo Worley & kids of Gretna; one brother, Jeff Hamlett of Hurt; one sister, Lucinda Davis and husband, Tim of Hurt; one granddaughter, Scarlett Crouch; and his step-mother, Teresa Hamlett of Hurt.

Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Gretna Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Dennis Nichols.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Gretna Pentecostal Holiness Church.
