Hurt……….Earnest Lee Farris, age 69 of Hurt died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born April 9, 1946 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late George Farris and Iza Simpson Farris. He was predeceased by a brother, Charlie Farris. Mr. Farris was a former employee of Blair Construction. He loved hunting, fishing, playing softball in his younger years and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Hall Farris of the residence; two daughters, Romonda Farris Davis and her husband, Mike of Altavista and Amy Farris Hill and her husband, Paul of Renan; one brother, Tommy Farris and his wife, Phyllis of Hurt; three sisters, Doris Adams and her husband, Carl Wayne of Java, Mary Oakes and her husband, Marvin of Gretna and Frances Dalton of Gretna; and four grandchildren, Courtney Davis, Zachary Davis, Whitney Davis and Colt Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Dr. R.A. "Dick" Daily and Pastor Matthew Speck. Burial will follow at the Farris Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
