Earnest Lovelace Barrett

Hurt……….Earnest Lovelace Barrett, age 77 of Hurt died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital.  Born March 9, 1937 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Earnest Jake Barrett and Elsie Mae McDaniel Barrett. He was predeceased by two brothers, James Barrett and Raymond Barrett. Mr. Barrett was a retired truck driver.He is survived by one daughter, Betty L. Hutchins and her husband, Jimmy D. Hutchins of Hurt; his wife, Judy Barrett; one brother, Oscar Ramsey Barrett; three sisters, Brenda Gail Whitten, Annie Lucille Walden, and Mildred Irene Denton; 2 grandchildren, Michael Lewis Dalton and Heather Marie Diaz; and 6 great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield.  In lieu of customary remembrances the family suggests memorials be made to Colbert-Moran Funeral Home in his memory. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is assisting the family.
