Hardy………Dwight Arnold Towler, age 80 of Hardy died Sunday, March 17, 2024 at his residence.

Born September 24, 1943 in Danville, he was a son of the late John Benjamin Towler and Hilda Bryant Towler.  He was predeceased by a step-daughter, Michelle Hattan; a brother, Horace Towler; a sister, June Shanaberger; and a great-grandchild, Hunter.  Mr. Towler was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church.  He was a graduate and big fan of N.C. State University; and an assistant state conservationist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 30 years.  He enjoyed traveling; and he loved his daughters, grandchildren, and his dog, "Winston Churchill."

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Minter Towler of the residence; two daughters, Lynn Dawson and husband, Gregory of Gretna and Andra Gibson and husband, Andy of Chatham; four grandchildren, Lindsey Davis (Kevin), Kelsey Hipp, Kayley Hipp (Garrett) and Kylee Hipp; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Logan and Bennett; and one great-grandchild on the way, Elvie.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Dr. John Dunstan.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Andra and Andy Gibson, 3757 Anderson Mill Road, Chatham.
