Gretna…….Douglas "Doug" Thompson, age 73 of Gretna died Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 1, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Edgar Thompson and Addie Brooks Thompson.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Owen Thompson, Rufus Thompson, and Ray Thompson; and one sister, Betty Jane Thompson.  Doug was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and he was a carpenter.  He enjoyed fishing and making fishing lures.

He is survived by one son, Joey Thompson of Gretna; one brother, Bob Thompson and wife, Brenda of Nathalie; and one grandchild.

Per his request there will be no public service.
