Gretna………Lloyd Douglas "Doug" Craddock, age 80 of Gretna died Monday, November 13, 2023 at his residence.

Born February 27, 1943 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late John Thomas Craddock, and Clarice Mayhew Craddock.  He was predeceased by one sister, Jean Arrington.  Doug was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher.  He loved his church, and church family.  Mr. Craddock graduated from Climax High School in 1961, Ferrum College in 1963, received his Bachelor's degree from Lynchburg College in 1965 and received his Master's Degree from Lynchburg College in 1975.  He was a member of the National Guard.  Mr. Craddock was a baseball coach; and head basketball coach, and athletic director at Chatham High School. He went on to retire as principal at Stoney Mill Elementary School.  Doug also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra C. Craddock of the residence; one son, Greg Craddock and wife, Sharon of Warrenton; one daughter, Kelli Harding and husband, Mark of Keysville; and five grandchildren, Emma Craddock, Luke Craddock, Jackson Harding, Matthew Harding, and Madison Harding.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Piney Fork Baptist Church by Rev. Tyler R. Daniels, and Pastor Drake King.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Piney Fork Baptist Church, 2501 Piney Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
