It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dottie Robertson Wood "Buck", age 74 of Altavista, Virginia

Our beloved Mother "Ma", Grandmother "Nana", sister, spouse and friend peacefully went to Heaven on Friday, May 16, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family in the home of her daughter after a courageous battle with cancer (three times).

Dottie was born on January 15, 1951 in Altavista. She was a daughter of the late Howard Edward Robertson and Jennie Katie Irby Keatts. She completed her formal education with a degree from Central Virginia Community College. Her working career was primarily with Klopman Mills in Hurt and Paktron in Lynchburg.

Dottie is survived by her son, Eddie Wood, her daughter, Stephanie Wood, her grandchildren, Ashelyn Wood and Brayden Mahan, her spouse John Edd Wood, her siblings Annie Wade, Raymond Robertson, the late Pete Robertson and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dottie dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family. She was always a source of love, nurture, support and unwavering strength. Their "Angel."

Dottie was very talented and creative in so many ways; sewing, ceramics, wood burning, blanket making, arts & crafts, wreath making and so much more. She loved to cook and bake (especially for the holidays.) She also loved to decorate and make holiday occasions special (Christmas and birthdays being her favorite). She was a big fan of and enjoyed listening to George Strait. Dottie loved to travel by train. Her favorite place to visit was the beach where she could truly relax and enjoy herself.

Dottie will be deeply missed and always treasured for her beautiful smile, kind heart, compassionate demeanor, gentle disposition and sweet soul. She was beautiful both inside and out. She was a blessing to everyone.

Dottie will forever be in our hearts. Until we see you again. Love You "Ma", "Dottie Fayed", "Nana", "Buck."

A celebration of her life will be held privately at a later date.
