Hurt…..Dottie Keen Elliott, age 75 of 505 Smith Road, Hurt, died Monday, October 3, 2011 in Lynchburg.
Born February 28, 1936 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Lee Keen and Lucy Shelton Keen. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Lynn Elliott; two brothers, Otis Keen, and D. Randolph Keen; a sister, Lois Gay Keen; and a son-in-law, Artie Powell. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gretna Branch, and was a retired employee of Ericsson. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, gospel and blue grass music.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Wayne Elliott of the residence; one son, Jeffrey Wayne Elliott of Hurt; two daughters, Donna E. Powell of Lynchburg, and Annette Elliott and friend, Jerry Watts of Lynchburg; three brothers, Harold B. Keen (Dora) of Gretna, William E. Keen (Inez) of Hurt, and Sam W. Keen (Mary) of Danville; three sisters, Dorine Strawn of Bedford, Sarah Barker (Doran) of Chatham, and Kathy Jennings (Bob) of Nathalie; and one granddaughter, Jasmine Powell of Lynchburg.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by President J. William Fowler. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
