Penhook……….Dotsie Mae Doss Brown, age 92 of Penhook, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born September 16, 1933 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Lynwood Jack Doss and Nannie Bobbitt Doss of Penhook. She was predeceased by her husband, William Cecil Brown and her son, Cecil Todd Brown.

Dotsie retired from DuPont in Martinsville.  She later worked for Pittsylvania County Schools in School Nutrition at Climax Elementary and Gretna Elementary schools.

Dotsie was a life-time member of Liberty Christian Church – Disciples of Christ. She also was a member of the Cool Branch Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary and was dedicated to helping her community.

She is survived by her son, Lynwood Michael Brown of Penhook; grandson, Cory M. Brown of Penhook; granddaughter Joy N. Brown and great-granddaughter McKenzie G. Jones of Chatham.  She is also survived by granddaughter, Kayla Brown McGlade (Justin) of Harrisonburg;  brother, Harry Byrd Doss (Mildred) of Penhook; and sisters-in-law Dixie Brown, Alease Fralin and Dottie Jean Martin all of Franklin County.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at Liberty Christian Church by Lacy Thomas.  Burial will follow in Liberty Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at Liberty Christian Church and other times will be at the residence.
