Hurt…..Doris Marie Taylor, age 69 of Hurt died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at her residence.
Born May 31, 1942 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Irvine C. Clay and Annie Pearl Drummond Clay. She was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Vaden Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was an employee of Straden/Bridgeport. She enjoyed Sudoku, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Taylor Elswick and her husband, Johnny of Hurt, and Tamera Marie Taylor an her fiancée, Mark Elliott of Hurt; one brother, James Clay of Georgetown, DL; one half-brother, Sammy Clay of Hurt; two sisters, Joyce Moss and her husband, Randy of Hurt, and Shirley Lanier of Hurt; and four grandchildren, Jessica Hankins, Kyle Hankins, Kaylyn Saunders, and Darren Saunders.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Dr. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna, and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-n-law, Donna and Johnny Elswick, 16341 Rockford School Road, Hurt.
