Gretna…..Doris Bennett Norcutt, age 95 of Gretna died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born December 6, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Lester Early Bennett and Elizabeth Young Bennett. She was predeceased by her husband, Lonnie Coleman Norcutt, Sr.; a son, Okey Lea Norcutt, Sr.; three brothers, Harold Bennett, Billy Ray Bennett and L.D. Bennett; and two sisters, Alma Joseph and Jeannette Pruitt. Mrs. Norcutt was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church and was a former employee of Amos Fine Foods. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, quit making and gardening.
She is survived by three sons, Lonnie Norcutt and his wife, Joanne of Newport News, Lynn Norcutt and his wife, Peggy of Hurt and Glenn Norcutt and his wife, Barbara of Newport News; two daughters, Peggy Dunton and her husband, Lyn of Hampton and Marjie Haden and her husband, Ralph of Stuart; one brother, Otey Bennett of Danville; three sisters, Lucille Perkins of Danville, Lottie Moss of Danville and Nell Slayton of Richmond; a daughter-in-law, Edna Norcutt Dunkel and husband, Dan of Hurt; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday November 20, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
